Clearing your throat is just a subtle way to say “SHUT UP I’M ABOUT TO TALK.”

I’m referring to the gurglespeech that comes out of your mouth when you start a sentance and you need to clear your throat, but you don’t. I don’t want to listen to you gargle plegm. Just clear your throught. It’s gross.

I literally can’t start a sentence without clearing my throat first. It’s become reflex. :/

I have a bad habit of doing this when I make a call. Apparently I do it late enough that that's the first thing they hear, my dad started mocking me, so I am trying to do it prior to pressing send.
